Rokit
My journey into vintage and classic clothing in 1990 when I was the manager of Rokit in Camden High Street in London. Rokit was at that time one of the best vintage clothing shops in the UK. This is where I learned my stuff, I was thrown in at the deep end but by getting my hands dirty and developing a passion for classic clothing, I soon learnt everything I needed to know to set me on the road to being a fountain of knowledge when it comes to Levis, selvedge denim, vintage leather goods and classic American apparel.
Flip
After Rokit, I was employed at the famous Flip store in Covent Garden, London. My job was split between selling on the shop floor and as the warehouse manager and grader, sorting through literally tons of imported American clothing. This job gave me the opportunity to dig deeper into the lifecycle of how the UK gets most of its vintage clothing and what to look for in collectable items.
Drummer
It was in 1992 that became a professional drummer and left the business side of Classic clothing, but never lost my passion. If anything, the travel that came with my drumming work gave me great opportunities to seek out lots of goodies.
Photographic Artist
To this day, I play drums, but not professionally as I once did. My journey took me towards being and running a web & graphic design company and I am now a published photographic artist.
I’ve been lucky enough to make a successful business out of it, selling my art online, appearing in galleries and being commissioned for album covers, posters and branding design. This website was built and maintained by me and hosted on my own web servers via my web design company, Leamington Design.
